EgyptAir organised a familiarisation tour for prominent Japanese travel agents to showcase Egypt’s rich cultural and historical landmarks, aiming to promote the country as a key destination for cultural tourism, which is particularly popular among Japanese travelers.
The tour, coordinated by EgyptAir’s Tokyo office under the leadership of Alaa Samir, in collaboration with Egypt’s SPT, included visits to prominent sites in Cairo such as the Grand Egyptian Museum, Saqqara Pyramid, ancient tombs, Bahariya Oasis, the Giza Pyramids, Khan El Khalili, and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation.

In Alexandria, the group explored landmarks like the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Roman Theatre, Pompey’s Pillar, and attended a sound and light show at Qaitbay Citadel, showcasing Egypt’s diverse tourist attractions.
The Japanese delegation expressed their appreciation for the experience and thanked EgyptAir for facilitating the tour, which they said would help them better promote Egypt as a travel destination.
EgyptAir currently operates a weekly flight every Saturday between Cairo and Narita Airport in Tokyo using its modern Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner, which has a capacity of 301 passengers.
