EgyptAir, the national carrier of Egypt, recently celebrated two years of successful direct operations between Cairo and Shanghai by hosting a series of high-level promotional events across the Chinese market.

A centerpiece of these celebrations was a gala reception attended by more than 500 representatives from China’s leading travel agencies, particularly from the major hubs of Guangzhou and Shanghai.

During the event, EgyptAir honoured several key travel agents for their significant contributions and support, which have been instrumental in the success of the airline’s operations and the growth of passenger traffic between the two nations.

As part of a broader strategy to showcase Egypt’s rich cultural heritage, EgyptAir sponsored one of the largest familiarisation trips ever organised for the Chinese market.

In a joint effort with the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Authority, and the Grand Egyptian Museum, the airline transported 46 prominent Chinese travel agents and tour operators to Egypt.

This delegation visited the country’s most iconic archaeological sites and tourist landmarks; an initiative designed to significantly boost the volume of Chinese tourism to Egypt and solidify EgyptAir’s role as the primary link for travellers seeking world-class historical experiences.

Chairman and Managing Director of EgyptAir Airlines Pilot Mohamed Alian emphasized that the Chinese market stands as one of the most vital and promising sectors for global tourism.

He noted that the company’s focus on China is a direct reflection of its strategy to support the Egyptian government’s goals for increasing inbound tourism.

Alian highlighted that the continuous expansion of direct flights, combined with high-impact promotional events, has strengthened EgyptAir’s position as a national carrier and a bridge connecting the Egyptian and Chinese people.

He reaffirmed the company’s dedication to modernising its fleet and providing a distinguished travel experience that meets the evolving expectations of its international customers.

Furthering this commitment, Head of Commercial Affairs Amr Adawy highlighted the importance of tailoring services to meet the specific needs of Chinese travelers. He emphasised that expanding partnerships with Chinese tour operators is essential for increasing tourist arrivals.

Supporting this vision, the EgyptAir office in China, led by Regional Director Khaled Fouad and supported by the Egyptian Ambassador to China, Khaled Nazmy, successfully concluded a promotional roadshow in Beijing and Shanghai.

The roadshow reached over 800 industry professionals and introduced several localized enhancements, most notably the appointment of Chinese-speaking cabin crew.

These developments were highly praised by attendees and reflect EgyptAir’s ongoing mission to provide seamless and culturally attentive service to its passengers.
