Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, held talks with Abdul Wahab Teffaha, Secretary General of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organisation (AACO), to discuss strategic issues, including environmental sustainability and the long-term goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The two sides explored global mechanisms for adopting supportive policies for the production and use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and low-carbon alternatives, emphasising the need for incentives over punitive mandates or taxes. Discussions also covered joint AACO projects, such as the collective purchase of sustainable fuel among member states and the outcomes of the association’s Environmental Policy and Digital Transformation Committee.
Adel praised the meeting as productive and reaffirmed EgyptAir’s commitment to working closely with Arab carriers under the AACO umbrella to achieve shared strategic goals that advance the regional air transport industry.
