Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El Hefny, met with Mario Binigli, the Regional Attaché for the US Customs and Border Protection (US-CBP) in the Middle East and Africa at the US Embassy in Cairo. The meeting, which was also attended by Amr El Sharkawy, Head of the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority, focused on enhancing co-operation in civil aviation security.
Discussions centered on several joint projects, including the Advanced Passenger Information System (API/PNR), the integrated security information exchange system (ATS-G), and the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) programme. Both sides emphasised the importance of continued collaboration to strengthen aviation security and exchange expertise in this critical field.
