Egypt and Qatar have discussed expanding co-operation in various areas of civil aviation, including air navigation services, training, and operational development. This came during a meeting between Egypt’s Civil Aviation Minister, Sameh el-Hefny, and Qatar’s Minister of Transport, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani.

El-Hefny highlighted deep ties between the two countries and praised the constructive collaboration in the aviation sector. He stressed the importance of strengthening strategic partnerships and sharing expertise to support mutual interests and sustainable economic growth.

The Egyptian minister also expressed gratitude for the technical support provided by Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority, particularly in training Egyptian air traffic control personnel at the Doha Air Traffic Control Centre last November.

Sheikh Mohammed, on his first official visit abroad as minister, expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s hospitality and commended the significant advancements in its civil aviation sector.

He also invited el-Hefny to visit Qatar at a convenient time, emphasising Doha’s commitment to enhancing aviation ties with Cairo, given the sector’s crucial role in economic development and bilateral relations.
