CAIRO – Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar has ordered the bodies concerned to study using solar energy to light up the new Sphinx International Airport.
The highest levels of safety and environmental quality have to be met, the minister said during an inspection tour of the project’s site.
Manar inspected the various development stages at the travel and arrival terminals, administrative offices, baggage belts, security and service system, external fences, airstrip, duty-free zone, control room, and camera system.
The project raises the airport’s annual capacity to 1.2 million passengers.
