Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Montaser Manna discussed with Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs Ghada Shalaby and a group of representatives of tourism and aviation companies working in the Arab market to attract fans participating in this tournament from different countries of the world to visit Egypt’s tourist attractions.
Manna praised the ongoing co-operation and coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, stressing the importance of continuing meetings between representatives of the two ministries to maximise opportunities that contribute to promoting Egyptian tourist destinations and increasing air and tourist traffic to Egypt.
Manna confirmed the continuation of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to provide all facilities to airlines and to support the reductions granted to provide ground services at airports.
For her part, Shalaby, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs, indicated the ministry’s keenness on the participation of the private sector and listening to their suggestions to enhance the benefit of this important event to promote Egyptian tourism, especially as it will immediately follow the Cop27 to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.
She added that the tournament will witness the presence of a large number of fans of different nationalities from some countries that do not have direct airlines, such as Latin American countries, which is an opportunity to attract these fans to visit Egypt during the tournament period, noting the positive impact of the facilities recently granted in the entry visa for tourists to Egypt in Increasing tourist traffic.
Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourist Authority, explained that promotional campaigns are being launched for the Egyptian destination in various tourism markets, pointing out that there will be a promotional campaign during the World Cup matches in Qatar, and that the authority is ready to cooperate and implement joint promotional campaigns in the Arab market with companies or tour operators during this period using various advertising means.
Ahmed Al-Wasif, head of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, pointed to the importance of agreeing on a mechanism between the private tourism sector and the Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities and Civil Aviation to implement a number of specific proposals to attract tourists from the fans attending these matches to visit Egypt.
For their part, representatives of tourism companies and airlines expressed their appreciation for holding this meeting and giving them the opportunity to present their proposals, expressing their full readiness to cooperate in a way that contributes to achieving the desired increase in the incoming tourism movement to Egypt during the World Cup and promoting more various Egyptian destinations and the activities and tourism patterns they contain.
