In a move aimed at bolstering collaboration in the aviation sector, Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority welcomed a high-level delegation from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), led by the agency’s Deputy Director and accompanied by senior representatives from AVIC, China’s leading aerospace corporation.

The visit marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties, with discussions centered around mutual recognition of technical certifications, aircraft airworthiness standards, and regulatory harmonisation. Both sides also explored joint training programmes and the adoption of advanced aircraft technologies.
Egyptian officials, including Capt. Sameh Fawzy, Deputy Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, and Capt. Karim Gamil, Advisor to the Authority’s Chairman, welcomed the Chinese delegation. Representatives from AVIC also presented the company’s capabilities in airport infrastructure project management, expressing strong interest in expanding their Co-operation with Egypt as the country undertakes ambitious plans to modernise its civil aviation sector.

Capt. Amr El Sharkawy, head of Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority, emphasised the significance of building bridges with global aviation leaders to support sustainable development and align Egypt’s aviation ecosystem with international standards.
The CAAC and AVIC delegations praised the technical and regulatory excellence of Egypt’s aviation system, voicing enthusiasm for further collaboration in ways that would benefit both nations.
The meeting was attended by several Egyptian aviation officials, including Eng. Ahmed Eid, Head of Aircraft Airworthiness, and other senior engineers and aviation experts.
