Egypt participated in the 34th extraordinary general assembly meeting of the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), hosted by Senegal this week.
Chairing the Egyptian delegation, president of the Civil Aviation Authority Ashraf Noweir said that the agenda of the AFCAC’s meetings discussed ways of boosting the aviation safety, security and efficiency in the African continent amid the current challenges faced by the industry, as well as 2022-2024 AFCAC budgets.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the Egyptian and Senegalese civil aviation authorities signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on regulating the air transport rights between the two countries, he added.
The move came as part of Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry’s strategy to reinforce the cooperation with the African countries, and enhancing the Egyptian presence in the African continent, and sharing expertise with the African cooperation in the civil aviation sphere, he further said.
