In light of the rapidly evolving geopolitical developments and the subsequent closure of several neighbouring airspaces, Egyptian airspace has once again solidified its position as a vital and secure corridor for international air navigation.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has successfully managed a significant influx of air traffic, proving the nation’s readiness to act as a safe haven during regional crises. This operational success is underpinned by the exceptional dedication of air traffic controllers who, under the leadership of Captain Ehab Mohi, Chairman of the Air Navigation Services Company, have worked tirelessly to ensure the seamless flow of flights while maintaining the highest levels of safety and precision.
From the onset of the current situation, Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny has maintained a constant presence at the Central Operations Room of the Civil Aviation Authority. This high-level oversight involves intensive, around-the-clock coordination between the Cairo Air Navigation Centre (CANC), the crisis management rooms at Cairo International Airport, and the integrated operation centres of both EgyptAir and the Egyptian Airports Company.
To ensure total preparedness, the Minister issued directives to raise the state of alert across all Egyptian airports, preparing them to accommodate transit aircraft that may be forced to divert from their original flight paths due to regional airspace restrictions.
The ministry’s strategy emphasises not only operational efficiency but also a deep commitment to passenger welfare. Dedicated teams have been deployed to provide logistical support and facilities to travellers affected by flight diversions, ensuring their comfort while keeping the regular flight schedule intact.

During an inspection tour of Cairo International Airport’s operations and crisis centres alongside Chairman of Cairo Airport Company Magdy Ishaq, Minister El-Hefny said that all contingency plans were being executed according to international standards.
This hands-on approach ensures that every operational decision prioritises both the safety of the aircraft and the quality of service provided to those on board.
Egypt continues to work in close alignment with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Regional Office and the aviation authorities of neighbouring countries.
This intensive coordination ensures that all developments are addressed through established standard procedures, maintaining a safe and steady flow of air traffic despite the surrounding pressures.

While the ministry confirms that Egyptian airspace remains fully operational and at maximum readiness, it advises all passengers to stay in contact with their respective airlines to confirm booking statuses and any potential schedule modifications.
This proactive management reflects the Egyptian state’s enduring commitment to global aviation safety and its role as a pillar of stability in the region.
