Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh el-Hefny met on Friday Airbus President for Africa and Middle East region,Gabriel Semelas, and MrUsman Mustang, the company’s Head of Sales, along with accompanying delegation.
The meeting was held during the minister’s official visit to the British capital, London on Friday.
Talks during the meeting focused on means to boost aviation transport industry, in addition to strengtheningareas of mutual co-operation in training, maintenance, and fleet modernisation.
Airbus officials presented a briefing on the latest technologies and innovations in aircraft manufacturing, expressing their eagerness to provide all forms of technical and technological support, as well as exchange expertise to achieve mutual goals.
They emphasised the importance of the economic partnership between Egypt and Airbus, which encourages more long-term investments in the aviation sector.
Hefny stressed Airbus’s role as a key partner in Egypt’s civil aviation industry, highlighting a collaboration spanning over 50 years.
He noted that this partnership significantly enhances passenger comfort and boosts Egypt’s competitive edge in regional and international aviation markets.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to the agreed delivery schedules for EgyptAir’s new aircraft, particularly in light of global delays in aircraft manufacturing.
