In its ongoing efforts to enhance the digital infrastructure across all its sectors, Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation is exploring advanced technological solutions with Huawei. Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, met with a delegation from Huawei, including Jim Liu, CEO of Huawei Egypt, and Felix Xu, CEO of Huawei’s Enterprise Business Group, at the ministry’s headquarters.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed Huawei’s latest innovations in digital infrastructure and cloud computing. The talks also covered the potential for introducing cutting-edge digital technologies to modernise Egypt’s civil aviation sector. Huawei representatives highlighted their successful implementation of advanced technologies in major international airports, such as those in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Changi.

Minister El-Hefny emphasised that upgrading digital services in Egypt’s airports is a key priority for the ministry, particularly through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing. He noted that these advancements would boost operational efficiency and enhance the travel experience, positioning Egypt as a regional aviation hub.
He further stressed that partnerships with leading global technology companies like Huawei are central to the ministry’s strategic vision of adopting smart solutions. This, he said, will not only improve the efficiency of Egypt’s airport systems but also enhance the country’s competitiveness on both regional and international levels.

Jim Liu, CEO of Huawei Egypt, expressed his appreciation for the ministry’s efforts to modernise Egypt’s aviation sector. He noted that Huawei is keen to provide the technical support needed to help the ministry achieve its goals, aligning with Egypt’s broader vision of comprehensive development across various sectors, including civil aviation.
