Aviation safety, raising safety systems, and implementing their latest recommendations were the focus of the seminar held by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the presence of Ministet of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Chairman of the CAA Amr El-Sherkawi and Chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company Engineer Yehia Zakaria and a number of experts in the air transport industry.
The seminar was lectured by Ahmed El-Nady, an international expert in the air transport sector and consultant for legislation and civil aviation training solutions at CAE, the largest provider of training and flight simulation services in 35 countries.

After the seminar reviewed the history of Egyptian civil aviation since 1932, specifically since the establishment of EgyptAir as the seventh airline in the world, it was emphasized that the aim of organising the seminar is to raise awareness of the importance of aviation safety, as well as obligating companies to make every effort to maintain aviation safety and security. With the application of all issued legislation, the seminar urged all companies to co-operate with the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Civil Aviation by submitting any proposal that would raise the efficiency of aviation safety systems.
During the seminar, Minister Helmy stressed the importance of advancing the air transport industry, pointing out that the way to achieve this is to maintain aviation safety and security through the training of the human element.
He added that the state provides all the support and requirements for the advancement of the air transport industry, stressing that safety is one of the most important files that we pay attention to in the civil aviation sector.

Amr El-Sherkawi, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, said that the civil aviation sector and the political leadership aim to be at the level of developed countries, pointing out that EgyptAir is the seventh airline established in the world, so we must be at the forefront of the world in the civil aviation sector.
El-Sherkawi added that we must pay attention to the human factor, which global statistics revealed that it represents 80% of the errors in the aviation industry, while the remaining 20% is due to equipment errors.
This seminar is a step within a plan launched by the Civil Aviation Authority to achieve a qualitative leap in the safety and security of the air transport industry in Egypt, especially the selection and training of trainers, inspectors, and the element, and the training of the human element in all airlines in Egypt.
