CAIRO – Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El-Hefny, made an inspection tour of El Alamein International Airport.
The visit of the minister, who was accompanied by Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, Wael El-Nashar, comes in light of the increase in operational rates and the growing number of tourists and visitors from various countries around the world in coincidence with the launch of the 2025 New Alamein Festival.
The tour included inspections of the departure and arrival halls, passenger processing areas, ground service sites, as well as monitoring the operations and control rooms, banking area, customs, and passport control.
The minister directed work teams to be fully prepared and take all procedures to ensure the provision of excellent services, emphasizing the importance of offering a high-quality travel experience that reflects Egypt’s status as a global tourist destination.
El-Hefny affirmed that the airport is a key pillar in supporting the state’s plan to develop the Northwestern Coast, noting that the airport serves New Alamein City and the North Coast region and plays an effective role in boosting air and tourism traffic.
He explained that the political leadership places great importance on developing the airport to align with the comprehensive development plan and attract more domestic and foreign investments to the area, considering it one of the major developmental projects currently underway in Egypt.
El-Hefny also noted that the 2025 New Alamein Festival, which features a variety of cultural, artistic, and entertainment activities, contributes to increasing tourist turnout and strengthening the city’s position as one of the leading tourist destinations in the Middle East.
He praised efforts exerted by all airport staff and the continuous coordination among relevant authorities to ensure smooth operations and achieve the highest levels of operational efficiency to reflect Egypt’s civilized image to its guests.
