Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Sameh El-Hefny, led a high-level delegation to the seventh edition of the Bahrain International Airshow, underscoring Egypt’s commitment to strengthening regional and international aviation partnerships.The Egyptian delegation included Amr El-Sharqawy, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority; Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Airports and Air Navigation Holding Company; and Wael El-Nashar, Aviation Security Advisor to the Minister.
On the sidelines of the event, El-Hefny met with Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Sheikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, in the presence of Egypt’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Riham Khalil. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral co-operation in civil aviation, including a proposal from Bahrain to increase direct flights and cargo services between the two nations.
The ministers also explored opportunities to deepen commercial and economic ties and discussed shared priorities for future collaboration.Dr. El-Hefny emphasized Egypt’s commitment to fostering partnerships with regional and global aviation stakeholders to exchange expertise and adopt advanced technologies. He highlighted the critical role international airshows play in showcasing innovations and enabling collaboration in the rapidly evolving aviation sector.
“The Bahrain International Airshow provides a valuable platform for major companies to present their latest technologies and capabilities, fostering innovation in aviation,” said El-Hefny. “Such events are crucial for keeping pace with industry developments and meeting the growing demand for air travel.”Sheikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa hailed the airshow as a pivotal event for strengthening international co-operation.
“This platform showcases cutting-edge solutions and innovations in aviation, enhancing partnerships among participating nations,” he said.The Egyptian delegation toured the exhibition, visiting pavilions of participating companies to review the latest advancements in civil and military aviation, drones, and navigation systems.Held at Sakhir Air Base in Bahrain’s capital, Manama, the Bahrain International Airshow is one of the region’s most prominent aviation events.
This year, it welcomed 223 civilian and military delegations from 56 countries, with participation from over 60 regional and global companies specialising in airlines, aircraft manufacturing, maintenance, IT, and training. The event serves as a showcase for the latest technologies shaping the future of aviation.
