Cairo International Airport won the Environment and Sustainable Development Award for 2023 In the large airports category from the Airports Council International, Africa Region (ACI Africa).
The award announcement letter stated that the members of the ACI Africa jury expressed their admiration for the quality of the measures taken by Cairo Airport to protect the environment and its commitment to sustainable development, in addition to the great incentive and dedication In applying the environmental management system and all sustainable development initiatives at Cairo Airport.
On his part, Eng. Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, congratulated all employees of Cairo Airport Company, headed by Accountant Magdy Isaac, for their efforts in obtaining this award.
Mahrous added that the holding company and its subsidiaries are committed to taking all measures to protect the environment and sustainable development, as it seeks to rely on renewable energy and conserve energy consumption.
The official announcement and award ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 70th session of the Airports Council International meetings and the 32nd General Assembly in Dakar, Senegal, in which the holding company participated, as Egypt Is an elected member of the African Airports Regional Council, which includes 15 members representing African airports.
