Cairo International Airport is witnessing a great development in the level of services provided to all airport visitors, including passengers, depositors and recipients, by raising the efficiency of the internal road network leading to the three airport buildings to facilitate movement, increase green spaces and afforestation, and open new branches for international brands at the airport.
Engineer Mohamed Saeed Mahrous, head of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, said that the development work comes as part of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategy of the need to pay attention to developing services and highlighting the civilised and aesthetic face of Egyptian airports, especially Cairo International Airport, Egypt’s first gateway, which contributes to presenting a civilised image worthy of Egypt’s name in front of guests coming to visit from different countries of the world.
The Cairo Airport Company, headed by accountant Magdy Ishaq, Chairman of the Board of Directors, had carried out renovations and comprehensive maintenance of all roads leading to and from the airport and internal roads and raising their efficiency, focusing on the visual identity around the passenger buildings, taking care of green areas and afforestation, in addition to reviewing signs and guiding signs to facilitate movement of passengers.
In terms of services provided to passengers, recipients and depositors in travel and arrival, Cairo Airport Company was keen to expand in attracting a number of international brands in the field of food and beverages.

IATA: Domestic travel revived air traffic during last period
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) confirmed the recovery of the aviation industry during the previous period.
The union said domestic travel was the first to revive air traffic as it faced fewer restrictions than international travel.
The union added that the US and China markets allowed incoming travel much earlier than the rest of the world, which led to a strong recovery also in global numbers, while the global domestic market was significantly and repeatedly affected in 2021.
It is worth noting that air freight played an important role during the pandemic, and freight traffic remained above pre-pandemic levels throughout 2021, benefiting from the increased competitiveness compared to sea freight.
The industry recorded strong results, including doubling air freight revenues, which in turn tripled, of the total revenue of airlines.
Although confidence remains that the recovery will continue, there are risks to the outlook including supply chain challenges, a more resilient global macroeconomic backdrop, and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty with the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine and tension in China.
