The Cairo International Airport has continued its preparations to welcome pilgrims for the Ramadan Umrah season, in line with directives of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN).
These efforts aim to intensify coordination to ensure Egyptian airports provide the best facilities and services to travelers performing Umrah.
The focus of preparations has been within the seasonal terminal dedicated to Hajj and Umrah flights for EgyptAir, in addition to Terminal 2, which handles flights for Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Terminal 1, which caters to private airline flights.
Cairo Airport Authority has made tireless efforts to provide all the necessary services for Umrah pilgrims. This includes dedicated areas for donning the Ihram clothing for those traveling directly to Mecca, as well as an increased number of coordinators and public relations staff to assist the elderly and those with health issues in completing their travel procedures and ensuring their safe arrival after finishing the pilgrimage rituals.
EHCAAN Chairman Eng. Ayman Fawzi Arab confirmed that the intensive preparations at Cairo International Airport are part of a clear strategy to enhance operational efficiency and provide a smooth travel experience for pilgrims. He stressed that the airport aims to strengthen its role as a key regional hub for air traffic and support the state’s efforts to facilitate Umrah flights in line with the highest service and quality standards.

In turn, Mr Magdy Ishak Azar, Chairman of Cairo Airport Authority, stated that coordination has been carried out with all airport departments to ensure the best services for pilgrims, whether they are traveling on EgyptAir or Saudi Arabian Airlines. He added that strict instructions have been given for staff to be present among the pilgrims to offer assistance, particularly to the elderly and those with special needs.
