Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas discussed with UK Ambassador in Cairo Gareth Bayley ways of joint co-operation and support for relations between Egypt and Britain in the field of air transport.
Minister Abbas pointed to the importance of continuous co-operation and coordination between the two countries, which contributes to revitalising the air and tourism movement, which is witnessing great development.
He stressed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation welcomes more co-operation and partnership with Britain in various air transport activities within the framework of the Egyptian state’s vision towards achieving comprehensive development and increasing economic growth rates.
It also spares no effort in supporting aspects of co-operation, training and exchange of experiences between the two countries in the field of civil aviation. He praised the fruitful co-operation between Egypt and Britain in various aviation activities in light of the strong relations between the two countries
For his part, the UK ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to the minister for his condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, pointing to the close co-operation between Egypt and Britain in the field of air transport in light of the historical and commercial relations between them.
The British ambassador praised the procedures applied at Egyptian airports that comply with the highest international standards for aviation security and safety, explaining that his country is looking forward to more co-operation in a way that contributes to strengthening air and tourism traffic, as the British tourist prefers to travel to Egypt as a tourist destination because of its tourist and archaeological potentials.
The meeting was attended by Montaser Manna, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation, Ashraf Noir, Head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Amr Aboul-Enein, Chairman of the Holding Company of EgyptAir, Amani Metwally, Permanent Undersecretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and Lamia Sami, Director General of International Relations and Agreements at the Ministry.
