Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas held on Sunday an extensive meeting with heads and representatives of Egyptian private airlines.
The two sides discussed means to promote aspects of cooperation between the national air carrier EgyptAir and private airlines during the next phase to achieve integration in the air transport system and to stimulate domestic and foreign tourist movement.
The talks covered ways to enhance the ability of Egyptian companies to compete in regional and international air transport markets.
Mechanisms to enhance the private sector’s role in the air transport system were also discussed, and visions that would contribute to the development of Egyptian air transport and prop up the national economy were exchanged.
The minister reviewed air and tourism services, which contributed to opening new markets and attracting more investments.
During the meeting, the minister of civil aviation stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in Egyptian air transport, pointing out that his ministry is keen to provide all aspects of support and facilities to the Egyptian private airlines to improve their performance. He stressed that private companies are an integral part of the Egyptian civil aviation system.For their part, board chairmen of Egyptian private airlines appreciated the efforts made by the ministry to provide facilities for private aviation activity to attract more investments and upgrade the Egyptian air transport sector at all levels.
