Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation organized Thursday a workshop on UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (UNFCCC), COP 27.
The gathering, organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, aimed at getting airport staffers acquainted with the importance of Egypt hosting of the conference as part of preparations for the event, to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh in Nov.
The workshop addressed the aviation sectors’ prospected plan for receiving participants in the conference, along with offering all facilitations to make their trip to Egypt comfortable and enjoyable.
All drives come in line with the government’s directives to continue coordination among the various ministries on this score.
The event also highlighted efforts of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to shed light on climate change issues; being a key global challenge, as well as its contribution to curbing pollution.
Egypt will host COP27 in November this year in South Sinai’s Sharm el-Sheikh city. During the stage of preparations for the conference, Egypt has vowed to speak for Africa’s aspirations to face climate change, build on the successful outcomes of COP26 in Glasgow, turn climate pledges into actions and support Paris Agreement.
