Dr. Sameh Al-Hafny, Minister of Civil Aviation, presided over the graduation ceremony for a new class of 37 students from the Integrated Aeronautical Information Program at the College of Air Traffic Control, part of the Egyptian Academy for Aviation Sciences (EAAS). The ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s headquarters.
The event was attended by Pilot Montaser Manaa, Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation; Navigator Sameh Fawzy, President of the Civil Aviation Authority; Pilot Ahmed Adel, Chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company; and Engineer Ayman Arab, Chairman of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation. Also in attendance were Pilot Ezzat Metwally Ibrahim, Chairman of the EAAS Holding Company; Navigator Hisham Tahoun, Chairman of the General Authority for Meteorology; Navigator Ehab Mohie El-Din, Chairman of the National Air Navigation Services Company (NANSC); and Navigator Medhat Abdullah Abdel Maqsoud, Dean of the College of Air Traffic Control, alongside various civil aviation leaders, faculty members, and graduates’ families.
In his keynote address, Dr. Sameh Al-Hafny emphasized that the graduation of this new class embodies the State’s conviction that investing in human capital is the true foundation for the safety and sustainability of the civil aviation system. He noted that the graduates’ achievement is the result of continuous effort and intensive training, fully supported by the Egyptian Academy for Aviation Sciences and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Al-Hafny explained that the civil aviation sector prioritizes the development of education and training systems to enhance the efficiency of human resources. This involves keeping pace with rapid developments in the air transport industry according to approved international standards by updating training programs, utilizing the latest technologies, and expanding international partnerships to reinforce Egypt’s position as a distinguished regional hub for civil aviation.
The Minister pointed out that the EAAS is a specialized scientific institution playing a pivotal role in preparing and qualifying human resources across various aviation fields. He stressed that professional discipline and performance accuracy are essential elements in a field that leaves no room for error, where responsibility is directly linked to the safety of air traffic.

Addressing the graduates, Al-Hafny stated that the post-graduation phase marks the beginning of a career path built on trust, responsibility, and constant vigilance. He urged them to adopt continuous development as a consistent approach and accuracy as a core trait, performing their duties as a national mission and responsibility.
For his part, Pilot Ezzat Metwally, Chairman of the EAAS, confirmed that this new class reflects the success of the Academy’s strategy in keeping pace with rapid global developments in specialized education and training. He highlighted the Academy’s commitment to graduating qualified Egyptian and international cadres capable of meeting labor market needs locally, regionally, and internationally, serving as ambassadors for the institution and living proof of the quality of its educational system.

The Chairman explained that the training provided by the Academy extends beyond technical aspects to instill values of discipline, responsibility, and teamwork. This ensures the preparation of highly efficient professionals capable of supporting air traffic safety and security systems and ensuring the highest standards of safety in the civil aviation sector, noting that the Academy plays an active role in supporting economic and social development in Egypt and the region.
In the same context, Navigator Medhat Abdullah Abdel Maqsoud, Dean of the College of Air Traffic Control, stated that this class represents the digital transformation generation within the aeronautical information system. He emphasized that the Aeronautical Information Officer serves as the vital link between air traffic controllers, pilots, and airports—the “unseen guardian” of air navigation safety—where the precision of information and data integrity lie behind every safe flight.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduation certificates were distributed to the students, followed by commemorative group photos with Dr. Sameh Al-Hafny and senior aviation officials to document the occasion.
