Head of the Civil Aviation Authority Amr El Sharkawy met this week with the delegation of the US Customs and Border Protection, headed by Debbie Seguin, Assistant Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection, at the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority in Cairo, where they discussed joint training programmes in the field of aviation security, border protection and customs policies.
The meeting also dealt with the praise by the US delegation of the security measures used in Egyptian airports, which had a positive impact by lifting the ban on all types of goods from Egypt to the United States after a hiatus of more than 8 years.
The pilot, Amr Al-Sharqawi, welcomed the American delegation, stressing the importance of the meeting, which dealt with ways of co-operation in the fields of training and modern systems in security detection and inspection.
For their part, the American delegation expressed its aspiration for more joint cooperation in the field of training in security procedures and measures by relying on modern technological systems in the field of inspection and detection of bags and border protection.
The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority has organized an introductory tour for the American delegation to the Museum of Egyptian Civilization. For their part, the members of the delegation expressed their happiness and great admiration for the tour, which had a great impact in introducing the nobility of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
