EgyptAir has announced plans to expand its fleet to 108 aircrafts by 2026, as the airline seeks to meet growing demand for air travel and provide passengers with a better flying experience.
The airline has signed a number of new contracts to acquire new aircraft, including 18 Boeing 737-8MAX aircraft from Air Lease Corporation. The 737-8MAX is the first addition to EgyptAir’s fleet, and the first aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in 2025.
EgyptAir has also signed a contract to purchase 10 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The A350-900 is a fuel-efficient aircraft that offers passengers a comfortable and spacious cabin.
With the completion of these deals, EgyptAir’s fleet will grow from 80 aircraft to 108 by 2026.
“These deals are in line with EgyptAir’s plan to modernise its fleet and meet the growing demand for air travel,” said Yahya Zakaria, chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company. “We are also committed to sustainability and environmental protection.”
In addition to expanding its fleet, EgyptAir is also taking steps to improve safety and passenger comfort. The airline has recently undergone a risk assessment by the American company GHS. GHS found that EgyptAir is in compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.
EgyptAir has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Rolls-Royce to provide comprehensive engine care for the 20 Trent XWB-84 engines that will power the airline’s new A350-900 aircraft. This agreement will help EgyptAir to predict and control the cost of engine maintenance.
EgyptAir has also signed an agreement with Panasonic Avionics Corporation to install the Astrova in-flight entertainment and connectivity system on its new A350-900 aircraft. Astrova is a new generation of in-flight entertainment system that offers passengers a wide range of features, including high-quality video and audio, USB-C charging ports and programmable LED lighting.
EgyptAir Academy for Training has also renewed its approval from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its A320 neo/ceo full flight simulator. EASA inspectors praised the simulator’s high quality and the airline’s commitment to maintaining and updating it to meet the latest international standards.
These developments are a sign that EgyptAir is committed to providing its passengers with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable flying experience.
