Marsa Matrouh International Airport received the first flight coming from the Polish capital, Warsaw, after a two-year hiatus. There were 121 passengers on board the plane.
The airport management welcomed the plane, with the Public Relations and Operations departments greeting the passengers, distributing flowers, chocolates, souvenirs, and tourist brochures about the city of Marsa Matrouh.

Pilot Ahmed Mansour, Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company, confirmed that the reception of numerous flights from Europe at Marsa Matrouh International Airport this season comes under the directives of the Minister of Civil Aviation to welcome more tourist groups and facilitate all necessary procedures and support for visitors to Egypt. This aims to present a respectable image to arrivals from various countries around the world and ensure a successful and outstanding summer tourism season.
In the same context, Marsa Matrouh International Airport is expected to receive large numbers of tourist groups during the current summer season, with several flights possibly reaching 25 flights per week from Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Bulgaria. This is due to the preference of many tourists to visit the city of Marsa Matrouh, known for its enchanting beaches and stunning nature.
It is worth mentioning that Marsa Matrouh International Airport has witnessed significant development recently in light of the developmental boom and large-scale tourism investment projects in the North Coast region. This enhances development opportunities, especially in the Ras El-Hikma area, which is one of the most important areas within the strategic plan for tourism and urban development in Egypt and a global center for tourism in the Middle East.
