Mohamed Said Mahrous, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, witnessed the announcement ceremony of the Excellence Awards presented by the African Airports Council, during which Hurghada and Sohag International Airports were announced as the winners of the Excellence Awards in Safety Management Systems at the level of the African continent for the year 2022.
The ceremony was held in in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.
Hurghada International Airport received this year two awards in the management of safety systems – the first as the best airport in the management of safety systems for the category of airports that operate more than 20,000 flights annually, and Hurghada International Airport received the same award at the level of airports in the North African region.
Meanwhile, Sohag International Airport won the Safety Systems Management Award for the category of airports that operate less than 10,000 flights annually.
