The three-day Story of a Homeland Conference last week at the New Administrative Capital with the attendance of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi related the developments of the New Republic founded on inspiring hope, eliminating difficulties whatever they may be, building a better future and providing a decent life for all Egyptians.
It was a tale on how to successfully manage and build a nation, which is worth studying in major international institutions.
The Story of a Homeland told of Egypt’s achievements over more than nine years, making it clear to Egyptians how their nation had been formerly and how it is now. It also showed the hostile media campaigns to which both citizens and officials were subjected to undermine trust in the state and its leadership.
The Story of a Homeland served to explain the existential challenges that the state’s leadership was facing in its way to build the New Republic.
The conference was not for propaganda or a catalogue of accomplishments. Rather, it was a roadmap to a better future and expounded a thoughtful vision of Egypt 2030 to achieve a sustainable development and progress in all fields.
Throughout the three days of the conference, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi spoke clearly about the vast challenges and hostile media campaigns which have repeatedly targeted the state and the president over the past nine years. The president’s attendance of the all conference sessions and keenness to address government ministers demonstrates his concern to learn the details of everything that is being done.
The conference conveyed several messages to Egyptians which are summed up in the importance of continuing work to overcome hardships and fulfil aspirations.
President Sisi regards himself as a president in the traditional sense, but as an honourable citizen who should work for the benefit of his beloved nation and its people.
Through the three-day-conference, President Sisi was keen to inform his people of the true circumstances of their nation so that they can take part in the decision-making process and understand the reasons for the decisions being taken. He is a model of a ruler who cares more about the welfare of his nation and its people than the level of his popularity. He has repeatedly asserted that Egyptians are free to choose whomsoever they see fit and capable of bringing about change.
In light of this, thousands of Egyptians gathered across the country asking the president to run for a third term, announcing their support for him to continue the process of construction and development.
Answering the call of Egyptians, President Sisi declared his nomination in the December presidential elections as a happy ending to the Story of a Homeland Conference.
This conference was not just a political forum, but a place where citizens were informed about challenges and realities. It conveyed a message to the world that Egypt is moving towards a better future and is ready to face any difficulties and record more achievements.
