The Palestinian issue has long been a central one for the Arabs and those living outside the Arab region.
Egypt has consistently upheld its unwavering position in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights over the years.
Throughout those years, Egypt maintained a clear and resolute stance on the political settlement of this ongoing conflict.
At the heart of Egypt’s position is a categorical rejection of any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.
Equally, Egypt firmly upholds the necessity of a two-state solution that guarantees the Palestinians the right to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Egypt’s position is not merely a political commitment. It is rather a deeply rooted moral and humanitarian obligation based on the principles of justice.
The Palestinian issue is not just a territorial dispute–it is a struggle for the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights against occupation.
Egypt has advocated respect for international law and human rights, opposing all forms of settlement expansion, land annexation, or forced displacement of Palestinians, whether temporarily or permanently.
Egypt has repeatedly emphasised that the ongoing Israeli occupation and the failure to achieve a political resolution are key factors in regional instability.
Delaying a just solution exacerbates tensions and increases the likelihood of military escalation, posing a broader security threat.
Any attempts to forcibly alter the geographic or political realities of the Palestinian issue will not only endanger Palestinians but also threaten the stability of the entire region.
Egypt’s parliament has echoed this stance, rejecting any measures that undermine Palestinian sovereignty.
Furthermore, Egypt has continually stressed that the only viable path to lasting peace is the implementation of a two-state solution.
This requires a comprehensive and serious political process, enabling the Palestinian Authority to govern Gaza and the West Bank effectively while facilitating reconstruction and humanitarian aid efforts.
Egypt has played a leading role in mediation efforts, as seen in the recent Gaza crisis, working alongside the US and Qatar to secure a ceasefire between Palestinian factions and Israel.
This reflects Egypt’s enduring commitment to the Palestinian issue.
Despite significant challenges, Egypt remains steadfast in its efforts to ensure the full implementation of ceasefire agreements and to support the Palestinian people’s aspirations for peace and security.
Incessant violations of Palestinian rights, including mass killings and the systematic destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure, demand urgent international action. The world cannot remain silent in the face of such injustices.
As a historic peace broker in the region, Egypt will persist in its unwavering support for Palestine, defending the Palestinian people’s rights on all fronts.
The international community must fulfil its historical responsibilities regarding the Palestinian cause.
Achieving security and stability in the Middle East hinges on a fair and comprehensive resolution that upholds Palestinian rights.
Ultimately, the Palestinian cause is not just a political issue–it is a humanitarian one.
Supporting the Palestinian people’s rightful claim to their land and sacred sites is generally in defence of world justice and peace.
