President Abdel Fattah El Sisi does not hesitate to take any step that is in the interest of the citizen, regardless of the difficulties.
The president always aspires for his country to be at the forefront, working day and night to eliminate obstacles and overcome difficulties. He is in a race against time to make up for the steps we have missed. Egypt is moving forward rapidly despite the lack of resources and in the difficult global economic conditions.
After Cairo became almost paralysed due to traffic congestion, it now ranks among the top countries in terms of road quality, and the travel times have been greatly shortened. This is in addition to reducing fuel consumption, pollution and the occurrence of road accidents.
Today, Egypt is entering the era of digitisation after President Sisi opened the government data and cloud computing centre (P1) to enhance Egyptian leadership regionally and internationally, and to consolidate Egypt’s position as a digital corridor for data transfer and leading data centre markets in the Middle East and Africa.
This centre is considered one of the most prestigious technology facilities in the region. It is the essence of digital transformation and one of the most important pillars on which the global economy is currently based. It opens new horizons to entrepreneurship in all fields and industries. In addition, it provides new opportunities to combine several fields in a single work environment.
The government data and cloud computing centre can collect data and analyse it electronically, to come up with conclusions and several alternatives for the decision maker. It clarifies the advantages and disadvantages of each decision, and the likely scenarios, based on fully secured data and information.
The public can benefit from this centre in many ways. The centre will prepare a unified medical file for patients, implement the health information system, and manage hospitals centrally to facilitate the circulation of patients within hospitals.
The centre will also help automating ambulances to improve the ambulance service by monitoring the behaviour of drivers and paramedics. Cameras will identify erroneous behavior and send footage immediately to the central operating room.
The Ministry of Justice will be able to facilitate litigation procedures and transform economic and civil courts into smart ones.
There is a future vision to benefit from the centre in smart cities by improving urban management and public services. This is evident now in the Financial and Business District in the New Administrative Capital.
The centre contributes to building a national video network to reduce crime and traffic accidents. It will also have a role in crisis management by improving emergency response times.
President Sisi is opening up horizons for the Egyptian people and calls on them to benefit from what has been provided for them. He called for teaching our children the arts of programming and data science due to their importance in the future of the world, saying: “Egypt has a huge number of universities, colleges, and programmes and we are targeting to have a great number of Egyptian young cadres who are well qualified in data science, artificial intelligence and programming to catch up with the developed world.”
We, as Egyptians, must keep the president’s call in mind and work to achieve it for the benefit of our country and our children.
