President Sisi congratulates Congo’s Sassou Nguesso on re-election

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a telephone conversation on Sunday with Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso, extending his congratulations to the president on his re-election in the March 2026 presidential elections.

Iran accuses US of ground assault plans

Iran said it was ready to respond to a US ground attack, accusing Washington on Sunday of preparing a ​land assault even as the Trump administration sought talks and as regional powers met in Pakistan to try to end the conflict.

The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye met in Islamabad to discuss ways to ‌halt the Iran war, which has killed thousands of people and caused the biggest-ever disruption to global energy supplies.

Hundreds gather in Istanbul for protest against US, Israel

Nearly a thousand people gathered in central Istanbul Sunday afternoon despite heavy rains to protest the ongoing conflicts in Iran, Lebanon and Palestine.

Organised by several religious conservative NGOs, the rally featured slogans like, “Resist, Gaza will prevail” and “Muslims don’t bow to oppression,” as well as signs saying, “Killer Israel, Killer United States” and criticising the Israeli closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli forces blocked two senior Catholic leaders from reaching the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in occupied East Jerusalem to celebrate Palm Sunday Mass.

ADAMA plant in S. Israel hit by Iranian missile

ADAMA, a maker of active ingredients and crop protection materials, said its Makhteshim plant in southern Israel had been hit either ​by an Iranian missile or debris from an intercepted missile ‌on Sunday, but no injuries were reported.
