The top man of the UN has been enjoying a book penned by the Secretary-General of the Arab League.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has been reading Witness to War and Peace, authored by AL chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

Guterres said in a recent meeting in New York that he is still reading the book, in which Aboul Gheit records his observations on the Arab-Israeli conflict in the crucial years of 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973.

Aboul Gheit has also written My Testimony, and both books have gone into nine editions in Arabic.

The American University in Cairo Publishing House translated the two volumes into English and several editions were issued in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The AUC has also discussed these books in a series of seminars attended by diplomats and academics.
