‘Egypt’s image abroad’ featured high on a TV programme “Benkamel El Sora”.
“The talk show, presented by Hanan Youssef, dean of Faculty of Mass Communication of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport, is meant to convey the true image of Egypt to all peoples of the world. It falls within the framework of the intercultural dialogue and the call to renounce hate speech.
The TV show deals with how to highlight Egypt’s achievements abroad in light of the negative image conveyed about Egypt by powers of evil.
The national media should have a role in delivering the real image to peoples all over the world, Youssef said.
The programme hosted Mohamed Fahmy, Editor-in-Chief of the Egyptian Gazette, (pictured in the photo) and Prof. Myrna Shalash, head of the National Network for Dialogue of Civilisations, alongside a number of foreign experts. The show will be aired tonight at 8:00pm, on Egyptian Channel 2.
Young people taking part in the TV show discussed means to promote people’s awareness on making Egypt’s image abroad more prestigious.
It featured an Egyptian-European youth dialogue on the image of Egypt and the International Forum for Renouncing Hate.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and President of the European Council Charles Michel proposed establishing an international forum that gathers people from Islamic and European communities to fight extremism.
As they met in Cairo recently, they agreed on the need to establish this forum to face the hate speech, consolidate the foundations of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and spread mutual respect and the dialogue language.
