Death anniversary of lady of Arab screen
Egyptian actress Fatan Hamama, known as “the lady of the Arab screen,” passed away on January 17, 2015. Hamama managed to grab the audience’s attention by her memorable roles and unique acting since she was 5. Hamama was born on May 27, 1931.
Among her works are Afwah wa araneb (Mouths and Rabbits), Ibn al-Nile (Son of the Nile), Du’aa al-Karawan (the Nightingale’s Prayer) and La anam (Sleepless). Her last work was Wajh al-Qamar (face of the moon) in 2000. She was the highest-paid actress.
Although Hamama got married three times, her marriage to the international actor Omar Sharif was the most famous one.
Sharif had Alzheimer’s in his last days; consequently, he forgot everything but Hamama.
Omar Sharif became Muslim in order to get married to Hamama. Their love story was one of the greatest ones.
Palestinian Wael El-Dahdouh arrives in Egypt
The Palestine journalist Wael El-Dahdouh arrives in Egypt from the Rafah border crossing for treatment after being shot by the Israeli forces while covering the incidents of bombardment.
Egypt’s Journalists Syndicate thanked the Egyptian Authority and the concerned parties for responding to its request to facilitate the entry of Al Jazeera journalist el-Dahdouh.
The syndicate announced that it contacted with el-Dahdouh after arriving in Egypt via the Rafah border, and he thanked Egypt and all Egyptian journalists for their support of Palestine and the Palestinian case.
El-Dahdouh is considered one of the remarkable journalists in the Gaza Strip. He went through heartbroken shocks; he lost his son Hamza,27, who was also a journalist at Al Jazeera, in an Israeli barbaric strike.
El-Dahdouh also suffered the devastating loss of his wife, a 16-year-old son, a seven-year-old daughter and a grandson during an Israeli shelling incident in October.
Messi clinched FIFA’s the Best award for 3rd time in a row
Lionel Messi won the 2023 FIFA’s best men’s player award for the 3rd time in a row. The 36-year-old Argentine was selected over Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, the same pair he beat for his eighth Ballon d’Or award last October.
Messi didn’t attend the ceremony that was held at Hammersmith Apollo theatre in west London as he was with his Inter Miami teammates preparing for a pre-season friendly against El Salvador on Friday.
