Hurghada International Airport was Egypt’s busiest airport last month. Throughout April, Hurghada recorded 855,000 arrivals, according to an infographic recently published by the Egyptian Airports Company (EAC).
Domestic and international airports receiving a total of 2 million passengers on 14,000 flights, the EAC said.
Hurghada airport topped the list of flight arrivals with 5,769 flights, followed by Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport with 3,860 flights and 536,181 passengers, the infographic showed.
Luxor airport welcomed 149,754 passengers, and Aswan, 107,841.
Borg el-Arab and Sphinx airports dealt with 150,600 and 8,211 arrivals respectively.
Hurghada Airport offers scheduled passenger services to Cairo and direct flights to various European destinations.
Traffic at Hurghada includes 40 charter airlines to and from cities in Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, and CIS countries, the airport’s website said.
