The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation, represented by the General Meteorological Authority, signed a co-operation protocol with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology which includes activating the role of information technology and artificial intelligence techniques in developing services provided to experts and those interested in the field of meteorology.
This comes as well as weather forecasts, information and data management and analysis systems in order to provide services electronically, overcome all technical challenges and provide accurate services to dealers in this field.
Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar had met Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat at the headquarters of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The meeting dealt with mechanisms for enhancing co-operation between the two ministries in the field of digital transformation and ways to maximise the use of solutions provided by information and communications technology and artificial intelligence techniques to serve the civil aviation sector.
Minister Manar praised the efforts made by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with all sectors and state bodies to build a digital Egypt in a way that contributes to improving the quality of services provided to citizens and raising the efficiency of government performance.
He stressed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation seeks co-operation and joint coordination with the Ministry of Communications to achieve a huge technological leap in various fields and activities of the air transport industry, keeping pace with modern digitisation and the era of digital transformation.
For his part, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat praised the co-operation between the two ministries, pointing to the great role of the General Authority for Meteorology in the field of weather, forecasts and the exchange of meteorological data and information at the local, regional and international levels as well as its increasing role as it entered the era of digital transformation.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Civil Aviation Pilot Montaser Manna, Assistant Minister of Civil Aviation for International Affairs and Information Basem Abdel Karim, Head of the General Authority of Meteorology Major General Hisham Tahoun and Amani Metwally, Permanent Undersecretary at the Ministry.
