Hanan Youssef Cultural Salon launched a societal campaign to spread awareness of changing the concept of top colleges and to call for introducing new colleges and new majors that society needs, and raise the families’ awareness concerning this issue.
This came during the activities of Dr. Hanan Youssef’s Cultural Salon in its 21st session under the auspices of the Arab Organisation for Dialogue, which was held via the interactive Zoom platform with great success last Thursday, August 26, under the title “Colleges on top..Illusion or reality..a societal vision.”
In the presence of a group of senior education leaders, ambassadors, thinkers, members of the Arab Organisation for Dialogue and young media professionals in Egypt and the Arab world, the discussions lasted for more than two hours.
The attendees pointed out that the concept of top colleges varies from time to time and also varies according to the family’s vision of the top college, and that the most important thing is developing the student’s skills in general, not only in the university degree.
The cultural salon’s dialogues also dealt with a number of variables such as technological development, side skills, and the importance of opening areas for sub-majors next to the main ones for development, as the labour market depends on requirements, training certificates, and skills more than colleges’ certificates.
Dr Hanan Youssef announced that the salon will submit a report of its recommendations to the relevant authorities to activate them within the framework of the salon’s role as an enlightening cultural media platform aimed at spreading awareness in the community.
