Campaign leverages TikTok live features to encourage donations and support meals for children in need worldwide
TikTok LIVE MENA has teamed up with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to support the “ShareTheMeal” campaign, an initiative designed to provide meals to vulnerable children and families around the world. The “Meals of Hope” campaign, which took place on November 3rd, engaged TikTok’s global audience through live streaming content, featuring popular creators and chefs who encouraged viewers to contribute to this vital cause. This collaboration aimed to raise awareness about global hunger while promoting the message that collective action can help fight food insecurity worldwide.
The ShareTheMeal platform, which has already helped provide over 240 million meals since its inception, allows individuals to donate as little as $0.80 (AED 3) to provide a meal through WFP’s global programs. The simplicity of the donation process – just a few taps on a mobile device – makes it easy for anyone to make a difference, contributing directly to alleviating hunger in communities affected by poverty, conflict, and natural disasters.
Rami Kridly, Head of ShareTheMeal, expressed his gratitude for the collaboration, stating, “Partnering with TikTok LIVE MENA for the ‘Meals of Hope’ campaign has been an incredible opportunity to reach an engaged audience and further our mission of ending global hunger, particularly in the Middle East. We are thankful for the participation of talented chefs and the success of the livestream event, which raised awareness at a critical time. Every meal shared brings us closer to a world without hunger, and we look forward to future collaborations to continue this important work.”
TikTok LIVE MENA hosted special livestream sessions featuring regional food and cooking influencers, who shared both their culinary expertise and ways to support the fight against hunger. The livestreams included popular chefs such as Manal Al Alem (@manalalalemcooking), Ramy Soliman (@ramysoli), Salma Soliman (@salmathechef), Chahrazad Al Hajjar (@chahrazadscuisine), and Sabreen Aljunaidi (@chef_sabreena), alongside other creators like Suad (@ladyspatula), Ali Ghzawi (@alighzawi), and Yasmine Idriss (@petites_choses). Elena El Sabbagh (@elenaelsabbagh) and Adham Alsaiaari (@adhamalsaiaari) also co-hosted the event.
Throughout the livestreams, viewers were encouraged to visit the ShareTheMeal platform and make direct donations. The embedded donation link made it simple for users to contribute, while creators provided an engaging and informative experience, showing how small actions could make a meaningful impact.
The “Meals of Hope” campaign successfully showcased the power of community engagement, with TikTok LIVE MENA using its platform to not only entertain but also inspire positive social change. By sharing a meal, TikTok’s global audience was able to actively participate in making a lasting difference in the lives of children and families in need.
