In the presence of a distinguished gathering of ministers, ambassadors, writers, journalists, and media professionals, a seminar was held at the Cairo Library in Zamalek to discuss the novel Three Queens of Egypt by the novelist Dr. Mona Zaki.
The event was moderated by Mr. Yehia Riyad Youssef, Director of the Greater Cairo Library. The seminar featured speakers including Dr. Eman Nagm, Head of the Central Department for Literary Affairs and Competitions at the Supreme Council of Culture, Dr. Aidi Ali Gomaa, Professor of Literature and Criticism at the University of October for Modern Sciences and Literature, the prominent writer and radio director Ayman Fathia, and Dr. Samia Abu Al-Nasr, journalist and editor-in-chief at Al-Ahram newspaper and Secretary General of the Strategic Forum.
Dr. Samia praised the novel, noting that it resonates with deep emotions, focusing on the image of a devoted, loyal woman. The narrative is rich and expressive, blending descriptive, narrative, and dialogic language. She highlighted that the novel portrays the value of true friendship, a rare quality in today’s society, and she applauded the metaphor of likening a woman to a queen, as she truly deserves that title.
Eman Nagm, an Undersecretary at the Ministry of Culture, emphasized the novel’s role in refining behavior and promoting positive ethics within the community. Dr. Aidi Gomaa from October University spoke of the novel’s distinguished narrative language, full of vivid metaphors in every sentence.
Dr. Mona Zaki, the author, explained that she intended to draw connections between the lives of ancient queens and contemporary women. She was inspired to write the novel by the often unjust perception of the self-sacrificing, dedicated woman. The novel seeks to correct the image of women and enlighten men about their true role in society.
The two-hour seminar was attended by an array of influential personalities who gathered to discuss Dr. Mona Zaki’s novel. Among those present were Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Ambassador Soha Al-Gendy, Counselor Adly Hussein, the Jordanian Ambassador to Egypt, Ambassador Omar Selim, Ambassador Ezzat Saad, Executive Director of the Council on Foreign Affairs, as well as representatives from Arab and foreign embassies in Egypt, prominent public figures, university deans and professors, critics, and media figures.
