Article “99” of UN Charter irritates Israel
Foreign Affairs Minister of Israel, Eli Cohen, considered the tenure of Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, a ” threat of International Peace” after Guterres sent a letter to the United Nations Security Council concerning Gaza to activate article “99” of the UN Charter.
“Guterres’ tenure is a danger to world peace.
His request to activate Article 99 and the call for a cease fire in Gaza constitutes support of the Hamas terrorist organisation and an endorsement of the murder of the elderly, the abduction of babies and the rape of women.
Anyone who supports world peace must support the liberation of Gaza from Hamas, Cohen wrote in his X account, formerly known as Twitter.
“Shame on you @antonioguterres! More than 30 minors – among them a 9 month-old baby as well as toddlers and children who witnessed their parents being murdered in cold blood – are being held against their will in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas is the problem in Gaza, not Israel’s actions to eliminate this terrorist organisation, Cohen wrote in X.
“Facing a severe risk of collapse of the humanitarian system in Gaza, I urge the Council to help avert a humanitarian catastrophe & appeal for a humanitarian ceasefire to be declared”, António Guterres posted in his X account.
Among António Guterres’s words in the letter, “I am writing under Article 99 of the United Nations Charter to bring to the attention of the Security Council a matter which, in my opinion, may aggravate existing threats to the maintenance of international peace and security.
