Orascom Development, a leading developer of integrated towns, has announced a community partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank to prepare and distribute 5,000 Ramadan food parcels. The initiative aims to support underprivileged families with essential food supplies during the upcoming Holy Month of Ramadan.
Under the banner of “The Longest Chain of Giving,“ the company organized a volunteer event at the O West Sports Club. The initiative saw widespread participation from O West residents of all ages alongside company employees, who gathered to pack the parcels in a collaborative effort to serve the community and provide support to those in need.
A Strategic vision for social responsibility
This initiative is part of Orascom Development’s broader strategy to integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into its core vision. By partnering with the Egyptian Food Bank, the company highlights a successful model of cooperation between the private sector and civil society to ensure aid is delivered efficiently.
Hazem Helal, CEO of O West, Makadi Heights, and Byoum (subsidiaries of Orascom Development), expressed his pride in the collaboration:
“This initiative is not merely a seasonal activity; it embodies Orascom Development’s deep-rooted commitment to social responsibility. We believe that building sustainable, integrated communities requires engaging residents in initiatives with real impact, translating values of solidarity into practical actions that improve the quality of life for vulnerable families.”
Helal added that the partnership with the Egyptian Food Bank ensures that support reaches those who need it most through transparent and expert logistical management.
Strengthening civil society ties
Mohsen Sarhan, CEO of the Egyptian Food Bank, emphasized that the collaboration serves as an effective model for private-public partnerships. He noted that such alliances expand the reach of nutritional programs and guarantee that food assistance is delivered with the highest degree of efficiency to eligible groups.
O West: A hub for community life
The selection of the O West Sports Club to host the event underscores its role as a premier social and athletic landmark in West Cairo. Spanning 38 acres, the club is a central component of the 1,000-acre O West development.
Located in the heart of 6th of October City. The project’s strategic location near Juhayna Square, Mall of Egypt, and the Grand Egyptian Museum further cements its position as a model for modern, sustainable urban living that prioritizes community engagement and social welfare.
