The Hanan Youssef Salon recently convened a virtual session to explore the critical role of media in fostering effective community communication.

Prof. Dr. Hanan Youssef, Dean of the Faculty of Media at the Maritime Academy in Smart Village, highlighted the salon’s focus on addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by the evolving media landscape.
She emphasised the importance of accurate and transparent information dissemination in building trust between media outlets and the public.
Youssef praised the Egyptian Prime Minister’s initiative of regular meetings with media professionals, noting its positive impact on government-citizen communication.
She called for more widespread adoption of such practices by officials at all levels.
Participants at the salon discussed a range of issues, including the need for media legislation, the importance of a purposeful media discourse, and the potential of conferences to enhance media’s societal role.
They also stressed the urgency of developing a unified Arab media strategy.
