The Supreme Council for Media Regulation will hold an expanded meeting on Wednesday with its Drama Committee at the Council’s headquarters in Maspiro.
The Meeting will be chaired by Khaled Abdel Aziz head of the Council and attended by members of the Drama Committee, led by film critic Magda Moris.
According to the initial indicators, Drama productions set to air during the upcoming Ramadan season show a trend towards addressing social issues in a more diverse and in-depth manner.
Programme presented by United Media Services Company, MBC Egypt Group and several private channels are expected to offer a different and more distinguished level of storytelling this year.
Officials believe this approach could strengthen public confidence in dram as a tool of raising awareness and prompting responsible values.
The Council also stressed the importance of maintaining the Egyptian cultural identity while preserving freedom of expression and creativity.
During the meeting, the Drama Committee will submit a detailed report outlining its recent efforts and mechanism it has adopted to monitor and follow up on dramatic works.
The report comes within regulatory framework aimed at enhancing professional standards and ensuring high-quality content.
Members of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation are scheduled to take part in the discussions.
