Malvern College Egypt (MCE) recently celebrated its annual Graduation Ceremony, a prestigious event that not only honored the Class of 2025’s achievements but also reaffirmed the institution’s standing as a leading force in British education across Egypt and Africa. The evening, held under the stars on the College’s beautifully manicured grounds, was a testament to academic rigor, strong character development, and future promise.

Dr. Lamis Khaled Azazy, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasized MCE’s unique position in the region. “Malvern College Egypt is a leading brand of British education in Egypt and Africa; one that guides its graduates toward the world’s top universities,” she remarked. Her words highlighted the College’s consistent success in securing placements for its graduates at highly esteemed British and international institutions, directly reflecting the strength and thoroughness of Malvern’s educational system.

This year’s ceremony carried an added layer of significance following the recent visit of Rob Breare, CEO of Malvern College International. Breare lauded MCE for its authentic embodiment of the Malvern ethos, stating, “Of all our international campuses, Malvern College Egypt strongly reflects the true spirit and values of Malvern UK.” His praise resonated throughout the evening, underscoring MCE’s role as a beacon of academic excellence and global opportunity.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from Mr. Jeremy Hart, Head of Sixth Form, setting a dignified tone with the formal entrance of guests and the playing of national anthems. The atmosphere soon shifted to one of joyous celebration as a nostalgic video montage transported attendees through the cherished moments that shaped the Class of 2025. This heartfelt tribute preceded the awards ceremony and the formal procession of the graduating class, led by Dr. Tim Jefferis, Head of Secondary.

Dr. Jefferis’s address paid tribute to the graduates’ academic commitment, character development, and remarkable resilience. Mr. Keith Metcalfe, Headmaster of Malvern College UK, reinforced the strong ties between the Cairo and UK campuses, celebrating the graduates’ readiness to navigate the complexities of a globalized world.

One of the evening’s most poignant moments was a video tribute from parents, filled with touching messages and encouragement. This was followed by powerful and eloquent speeches from Head Boy Mohamed Mohamed (USI) and Head Girl Malak Salem (USM), who reflected on the friendships, values, and personal growth that defined their Malvern journey.

Mr. Hart and Mrs. Helen Boyle, IBDP Coordinator, presented the A-Level and IBDP Awards, acknowledging exceptional academic distinction, leadership, service, and character. Many graduates achieved outstanding results, ranking among the best in Egypt and Africa, securing coveted places at top universities worldwide.

The Class of 2025’s university destinations include some of the world’s most prestigious institutions:

  • Imperial College London (UK)
  • London School of Economics – LSE (UK)
  • King’s College London (UK)
  • University of Edinburgh (UK)
  • University of Bath (UK)
  • University of Bristol (UK)
  • University of Durham (UK)
  • University of Exeter (UK)
  • University of York (UK)
  • University of Nottingham (UK)
  • NYU – New York University (USA)
  • University of Toronto (Canada)
  • University of Turin (Italy)

These impressive outcomes underscore the strength of Malvern’s academic programs, expert university counseling, and its global outlook. Students are not only academically prepared but also personally equipped to thrive at the highest levels of global education.

In his compelling closing speech, Mr. Gavin Boyle, Headmaster of Malvern College Egypt, focused on the themes of discipline, purpose, and the responsible use of privilege. Drawing inspiration from Admiral William McRaven’s renowned Navy SEAL speech, he reminded students that “excellence is not an act but a habit, and that it is often the smallest, most consistent actions that lay the foundation for truly remarkable outcomes.” Mr. Boyle encouraged the graduates to carry their Malvern Qualities forward, transforming their privilege into a passion for good and using their knowledge not merely for personal gain but to uplift others.

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic turning of the tassels, formally marking the graduates’ transition into Malvern alumni and setting them on a path toward exciting futures filled with opportunity and responsibility. Malvern College Egypt continues to lead the way in international education in the region, preparing confident, compassionate, and capable graduates ready to shape the world.
