Unvaccinated employees have been banned from their places of work in accordance with a government ban that came into force last Monday, 15 November.
Members of the public who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 are not permitted entry into any government department or official establishment.
Otherwise, all employees must furnish proof that they have been vaccinated to gain access to the workplace.
In a phone interview with a TV show yesterday Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar proof of vaccination can be in the form of a paper vaccination certificate, issued by the health centre where the jab was given.
This certificate is stamped after the booster jab and given free of charge.
The Egypt Health Passport App with a QR code shows that the holder has been vaccinated.
The QR coded certificated states the type of vaccine received. Payment is required for this app.
Anyone found with a forged a certificate will be punished according to law.
Egypt’s vaccination campaign began in January with vulnerable groups and was later expanded to university students.
Registration for the jab is open to all.
Egypt has made all types of anti-Covid-19 vaccines available in accordance with to directives from the political leadership.
On 17 October, the Supreme Committee for Coronavirus Crisis Management, headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said no unvaccinated employee would be allowed access to the work place after November 15, or he would have to do a PCR test every week.
