A high-level Qatari delegation visited “Ahl Masr Burns” Hospital in New Cairo yesterday, to learn about its pioneering health experience, and to discuss ways to enhance the Qatari partnership with the hospital to develop its medical services provided to burn patients free of charge.
The delegation included the Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in Qatar, Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Duhaimi, the CEO of Qatar Charity, Yousef Ahmed Al-Kuwari, and a number of officials from the Qatari Embassy in Cairo.
This visit is part of efforts to enhance co-operation between Egypt and Qatar, and to emphasise the ongoing Qatari role in supporting the humanitarian efforts of the Hospital. The visiting Qatari delegation was received by Dr Heba Al-Suwaidi, Founder and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Ahl Masr Burn Foundation and Hospital, Iman Sharif, CEO of the Ahl Masr Development Foundation.
In this context, Director General of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities in Qatar Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Duhaimi praised the high standard of Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, stressing that it is a distinguished model for comprehensive healthcare for burn patients in Egypt, the Middle East and Africa, due to its commitment to achieving the highest quality in patient care.
Meanwhile, CEO of Qatar Charity Yousef Ahmed Al-Kuwari said that the Hospital enjoys modern and advanced facilities that help it play vital role in providing high-quality health services to save the lives of burn patients.
For her part, Heba Al-Suwaidi welcomed the Qatari delegation, and expressed her deep thanks and appreciation to Qatar and to the Qatari Ambassador to Cairo Tariq Ali Faraj Al-Ansari for his efforts and continuous belief in the importance of addressing the issue of burns.
The Hospital has treated more than 5,000 burn patients since its opening last March. It has also received 5,037 patients in the emergency department, and 157 others in the intensive care units for adults and children.
The hospital also provided psychological rehabilitation services for cases after undergoing operations, to help them integrate into society.
