CAIRO – Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has reviewed a report presented by Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management Bahaa el-Din Zidan on preparations for organizing the first African medical exhibition and forum (Africa Health ExCon).
According to the report, preparations are under way by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management for holding the Africa Health ExCon on June 5-7 under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The authority seeks to make this conference an annual forum bringing together international companies and officials of the African medical sector, Zidan said, noting that the event is set to introduce modern technology in the medical fields, as well as create a sustainable business platform that links health officials, manufacturers, agents, distributors and healthcare providers across the world.
In the same regard, the official said the Africa Health ExCon will enable all healthcare partners to interact together.
Zidan noted that the exhibition will provide many opportunities to discover various medical products that target different sectors, such as medical supplies, chemicals, laboratory reagents, medical devices, medical insurance, in addition to therapeutic nutrition and vitamins.
Meanwhile, the prime minister emphasized the State’s keenness to organize such conferences and exhibitions, particularly those that help foster joint cooperation between Egypt and African states in accordance with President Sisi’s directives in this regard.
They also serve goals of Africa’s Agenda 2063 as regards boosting investments in the medical sector, Madbouli added.
He noted that the meetings and events scheduled to be held as part of the conference will go in line with the efforts exerted to achieve sustainable development goals in relation to providing comprehensive health coverage and ensuring access to basic health services.
