Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar has stressed that North Sinai’s hospitals are ready for receiving cases from the Gaza Strip that is reeling from brutal, unabated Israeli military strikes.
The minister’s remarks came on Monday at a press conference with North Sinai governor Mohamed Shosha following a visit to inspect Arish hospital to check on the quality of medical services.
Earlier on Monday, the minister met with deputies and heads of the crises rooms in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, North Sinai, Suez, Ismailia, Port Said, Damietta and Sharqia in the health ministry’s HQ in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) via video conferencing.
The measure comes in implementation of directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during a meeting of the National Security Council to review preparations of the health system to deal with any medical emergencies following the serious repercussions of the Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip and raise the efficiency of hospitals in the relevant governorates and provide them with an abundant stock of medical supplies and medications.
Spokesman for the Health and Population Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the minister made sure that there are sufficient stockpiles of medications in hospitals across these governorates.
