Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar asserted Adwa central hospital in Minya is a quantum leap in the health facilities.
Abdel Ghaffar said that the renovation of the hospital started in 2017 and was finished in 2024, asserting continued work to improve the health system in all Egyptian governorates to achieve the goals of sustainable development and “Egypt Vision 2030”.
This came during Abdel Ghaffar’s inspection of the hospital on Saturday 29/3/2025 accompanied by Minya Governor Emad Kidwany.
The visit comes as part of a series of field tours to follow up the flow of work in the health system and stand on the quality and efficiency of medical services presented to the citizens in the health facilities and any challenges facing the health system.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the minister started his tour in the hospital by inspecting the emergency and reception departments, the X-ray unit, the lab, the dialysis unit, dentistry department.
He also inspected intensive care unit and baby incubators to check on the health condition of the patients and make sure of the availability of requirements and equipment, the spokesman said.
The hospital operated after renovation in January 2025 at a total cost of EGP 734 million, the spokesman added.
This was part of the plan of the ministry to improve the efficiency of health facilities, the spokesman said.
The hospital includes 138 beds, 25 dialysis machines and 30 incubators, the spokesman said.
