CAIRO – Egypt’s Health and Population Minister Khalid Abdel Ghaffar had a meeting with Filippo Uberti, Secretary General and Head of the Health Sector at the Italian Eni Foundation, and a number of the foundation’s representatives, to discuss bilateral cooperation and progress made so far to implement cooperation agreements signed between the two sides.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the Global Congress on Population, Health and Development (PHDC’23), which is held in the New Administrative Capital, under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said in statements on Friday that the two sides discussed implementing agreements between the Health Ministry and Eni company on establishing a burn unit at As-Salam International Hospital in Port Said governorate for adults and children, with a capacity of 12 beds.
They also discussed equipping an integrated burns center at Shebin El-Qanater Hospital in Qalyubia governorate to help improve the healthcare services provided to citizens.
During the meeting, the minister lauded Eni company’s keenness on consolidating ties with the Health Ministry to improve the health sector in Egypt.
