EL ALAMEIN – Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said Thursday Egypt is witnessing a drop in Covid-19 cases, as well as a decrease in the coronavirus related fatalities.
In a cabinet meeting, under Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli in New Alamein City to review the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus in Egypt and the world, the minister said, about 50 million Egyptians are included in the country’s vaccination target, adding that 99.8 %per cent of the number received the first dose of the vaccine and over 78% received the second dose.
The thirst dose, booster shots, targeted 25 million citizens, Abdel Ghaffar said, adding that about eight million of the number received their vaccination, representing 31.5% of the total number.
The minister said, worldwide, almost 40,000 monkeypox cases were confirmed in 94 countries.
